From Burn to Bloom exists to help you break that cycle. There is no toxic positivity or empty platitude here — just honest, steady, and compassionate work to help you stop fighting yourself and start rising out of the ashes.
I'm Annalisa Bova, LCSW, a licensed therapist in Allentown, PA who believes in keeping it real. My clinical work centers on eating disorder recovery, trauma counseling, anxiety therapy, and military family support. Having recovered from an eating disorder myself, I know firsthand how scary it can feel to let go of old survival tools, but I also know how powerful it is to rebuild from the ground up.
You don't have to carry this alone anymore. Here, you'll be met with deep empathy, honest guidance, and unwavering support. We'll move at your pace, honor your story, and work together toward a life that truly feels like yours.
Meet AnnalisaEating feels complicated, your body feels like a battleground, and self-worth rises and falls with the scale. As an anti-diet therapist, I help men and women make peace with food — no rules, no shame.
Loss, anxiety, and depression can quietly reshape a whole life — yours or your child's. Together we lighten the load, reframe the thoughts that keep you stuck, and help you feel like yourself again.
Military life asks a great deal of service members and their families. Coming from a military family myself, I understand that world from the inside — no explaining required.

Using cognitive behavioral therapy, we gently deconstruct the negative thinking patterns beneath anxiety, low mood, and self-criticism — and build kinder, truer ones in their place.
My work is grounded in humanistic therapy and genuine encouragement: you set the pace, you're met without judgment, and every step forward gets noticed and celebrated.
As an anti-diet therapist, I use intuitive eating principles — not rules or restriction — to help you rebuild a trusting, peaceful relationship with food and your body.

“You are not behind. You are not broken. You are a person who adapted to survive — and is finally ready to do more than that.”The heart of this practice
I work with individuals struggling with anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder, ARFID, OSFED, chronic dieting, and disordered eating. Whether you've been formally diagnosed or simply know your relationship with food has taken over your life, you're welcome here.
It means you won't have to explain what it feels like for the illness to hijack your life — I already know firsthand. That lived experience shapes how I show up for you: with radical authenticity, zero judgment, and the practical understanding of what it takes to rebuild from the ground up.
Not at all. Ambivalence is a normal part of eating disorder recovery. You don't have to be fully motivated or certain that you want recovery to begin therapy. We'll work through that together.
Recovery often includes rebuilding a healthy relationship with food, but therapy isn't about forcing or shaming you. We'll work together to understand what's driving the eating disorder and collaborate with a registered dietitian or other providers when appropriate.
While my primary focus is on eating disorders, I also have a dedicated passion for working with military personnel and military families, as I come from a military family myself and understand that unique world from the inside out. Before I focused entirely on eating disorders, I worked as a generalist treating depression, anxiety, and children, so I also bring that broad clinical foundation to my practice.

The relationship between therapist and client matters. If you're looking for someone who will meet you with warmth, honesty, and accountability — not someone who tiptoes around the eating disorder — we may be a good fit. I offer a consultation so we can see whether working together feels right.
